Don’t Be A ‘Jack of all Trades’ - Be An Expert In One

Becoming an expert in your chosen niche is no harder than writing what you know best down on paper.

There is much money to be earned online simply by specializing in what you know, even if you’re skills are a bit rusty.

For instance, many newbie internet business owners move from opportunity to opportunity simply because the previous one didn’t live up to their expectations when realistically, a simple solution could have been staring them in the face.

Every individual has some sort of skill, hobby or favourite pastime which could generate an easy 4-figure income with just a little forethought and focus.

Here’s a few tips on how to become an expert in your field, even if you know zilch about your market.

1. Choose a subject matter close to your heart or one that gives you great pleasure in pursuing.

2. Visualize what questions someone would ask for in your chosen niche. For example (cookery related):

“How do I make the perfect bolognaisse?”

“Would I add Basil and Oregano or just one of them to get the perfect flavour?”

“What would be the best cut of minced beef for a superior taste?”

Do a simple Google test - just enter “How To” in the query bar then hit search - you’ll be amazed at the amount of ideas you can come up with to write a ‘How To” book, e-course or mini-email series for your own business.

Visit ehow.com and just enter a word, you’ll get thousands of ideas so you’ll never run short.

If you enjoy internet marketing for instance, don’t try and master every aspect because you won’t - period! Instead, master one aspect until you know it inside out then move on to the next component.

Once you learned about it, again write an ebook or break it down and give it away as free reports with links going back to your website.

3. Failing this… How many experts do you know within your own community? Phone them up, ask them round and pick their brains about their subject but remember to record it. Use this information for your own marketing purposes, website promotion etc.

It won’t be too long before your audience will recognize you as an expert which will only convey trust amongst your subscribers.

These are all questions you could ask yourself, carry out your own research in google then compile quite a large reference to begin writing an ebook; cookery reports, email course or whatever the case may be.

4. Give your research to a ghostwriter on scriptlance, guru.com or findafreelancer and ask them to compile the ebook for you.

There are many writers out there who would would just love a project like this without you having to do very much yourself.

Don’t be put off by thinking you’re deceitful by not exactly writing it yourself, you’re not. There are thousands of projects, just like this example, that have made millionaires by having others compile the information for them in some sense.

Everyone has expert status in them, it’s just a matter of getting it out in print.

Once you do this you too can have the accolade of being called an ‘expert’ rather than a ‘Jack of all trades’ and ‘Master of None’.

Working from Home - Challenges and Benefits

Many people dream of working from home. Operating your own business from home can be a dream come true or a nightmare, not only do you have the full benefits you also have total accountability. You alone are responsible for the success or failure of your business. There are many and varied benefits, some quite unexpected, which go along with the many challenges.

Some challenges include the following:-

Sorting out any legal and insurance issues.

Lack of company - working alone does not suit everyone. Many people enjoy day to day “water-cooler” banter which occurs in a work environment.

Lack of skills - there are many aspects to working from home, and you may find you are not expert in all areas. The learning curve can be quite steep.

Lack of support - many work environments offer working in teams as a benefit - teamwork provides an opportunity to share ideas and get feedback. Teams also help with problem solving.

Interruptions - some people may regard your time as less valuable when you work from home and feel they can bother you at any time.

Lack of guaranteed income - the knowledge that you no longer have the regular income a job can provide can be quite daunting. One solution is to commence your home business on a part time basis while still employed and build it up.

Family pressures - small children will naturally enjoy your presence and may hinder your work activities. Set boundaries and choose a work schedule to suit your family’s needs.

Time management - determine your work schedule. Remember that you cannot be “at work” 24 hours a day.

Distractions - phone calls and visitors can be very distracting. Ask your friends and family to respect your core work times.

Lack of understanding - many people, particularly, those who grew up in a time where people had a “job for life”, don’t understand the “work from home” concept. It requires a paradigm shift your extended family may not be capable of making straight away. Don’t expect unreserved support from your mother-in-law!

There are many benefits to working from home, both to you personally and the planet. Your daily commute changes from driving your car in bumper-to-bumper traffic to strolling down the hallway. This benefits you on many levels including:-

Saving money on fuel and vehicle maintenance.

Saving time - depending on your old commute time this can amount to a staggering numbers of hours per week saved.

Avoiding the stress of driving in traffic

Increased safety due to less time on the road.

Reducing your carbon footprint - being “greener”.

You really can work in your pyjamas.

You can schedule your work day to suit your own personal body clock and lifestyle.

You control your work environment, temperature and background music.

You can schedule your business to enable you to attend those precious family events, like your child’s first recital.

You have personal freedom.

You’re not locked into corporate political struggles, long business lunches or office gossip.

You can eat whenever you get hungry. Those leftovers need never go to waste again. Plus it costs far less.

You can claim tax deductions for your home office.

You extend you skills by venturing into areas your traditional job may not allowed.

You can be creative putting together advertising or a new brochure.

You can set yourself up for a secure future.

You can shop at non-peak times for a more relaxed experience.

You can take long weekends without asking anyone for permission.

You can tend to an ill child without feeling guilty about taking time off. Likewise you can arrange for deliveries or repairs without paying extra for after hours service.

Personal growth is something which will occur as part of developing your home based business. Broadening your abilities, and developing an understanding of all aspects of business will never allow you to get bored. Work related satisfaction will soar.

Overall, working from home has many benefits. Your work from home could be an extension of your previous employment or something totally new. Many people start off part time to gain confidence before resigning from their regular employment. It’s hard to put a dollar value on flexible working hours, a more family friendly schedule and lower stress levels, but you will instinctively realize the value on a personal level.

A Complete Newbie “How To” Guide For Earning Money Online

You sit in front of your computer - a budding entrepreneur - eager to make your fortune online as an Internet Marketer. Presuming that you know how to at least surf the Internet and search for information using Search Engines, how do you start to earn money online? This is one of the most frequently asked questions of those wanting to break into Internet Marketing. The answer is not always a simple one.

Now lets explore which type of program leads directly to successful Internet marketing online. Most beginning marketers have no one to take them by the hand and show them - step by step - how to find the easiest path to that first commission check. Without help from an experienced marketer, it takes a lot of time, money, and aggravation before one can see their first income. As the saying goes, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.” Let us take that first step together…

Start At The Beginning

One can’t harvest a crop without first planting a seed, patiently cultivating, watering and pruning, until at last it bears fruit. By the same token, you must choose a starting point for your online marketing efforts, and take everything one step at a time.

Most programs on the Internet today that are targeted to earning money can be divided into some very distinct categories. These are roughly as follow: Network Marketing & MLM opportunities, Traffic Generation Programs, and Affiliate programs.

Network Marketing and MLM Programs are (in general, at least) programs that sell a product or service that you must purchase yourself on a monthly basis to be eligible to earn commissions. In this way, your purchase each month provides a portion of the commission for the person who referred you to the business, and your commissions each month will come from the purchases of people you refer to the program.

This is, in my experience, as well as according to the advice of many experts in the field, not a good choice for someone who is new to Internet marketing. Why? Well, there is the matter of your monthly required purchase that is costing you money even before you refer one single person. Usually the commission percentage is low enough that you must refer at least two or three people (each making the required monthly purchase) to just break even on what you spend each month.

The biggest difficulty with this, is that you must be able to persuade others to spend their money each month for the required purchase, while, in the beginning, you probably lack the skills needed to get referrals quickly. As a result, you may struggle for several months before referring a single person willing to join you. Because of this, you can spend hundreds, or even thousands of dollars before turning a profit in this kind of program. Therefore, Network Marketing & MLM programs based on required monthly purchases are not something anyone would recommend to a person new to Internet Marketing.

The Facts On Traffic Generation Programs

Traffic Generation Programs are the programs that can actually get visitors (often called “traffic”) to your website. No matter how beautiful your web site full of great products is, unless someone sees it, you will make no sales! On the Internet, web site traffic is the life-blood of sales. It is, therefore, essential to direct visitors to your site.

All traffic generation programs are not created equal, and the “quality” of the visitors is more important than the “quantity” of traffic. This is a subject that needs to be followed in much more detail in another article, but for now, we are more concerned with the value of traffic generation programs as sources of income generation.

There are very few traffic generation programs that actually generate a large percentage of income just through promoting them as a cash generation source. Though these programs are necessary for all marketers, and the traffic they generate are essential to the success of any Internet Marketer, most experts in Internet Marketing do not recommend more than five or six such programs to start with. Choose wisely as to the ratio between web sites (of other members) that you must visit to earn a visit to your web site in return. This is why these programs are often called Traffic Exchanges. Always try to find programs with a 1:1 or 3:2 ratio. You will earn more traffic with those programs more quickly, which is what you need when just getting started.

All but a few traffic generation programs are free to join with one or more options to upgrade. In the beginning, stick to the free version. You can worry about joining more such programs, or upgrading in the five or six programs you use, later when you have begun to earn an income.

Affiliate Programs - A Beginner’s Dream

What is an affiliate program? A short definition is: A program in which you are paid a commission for selling another person’s product. Research has shown this to be the easiest way to get a commission check for someone just starting out in Internet Marketing. The best items to sell are digital products that will appeal to other Internet Marketers. You never have to buy the product, store it, or handle it. The owner of the product handles all aspects except to promote it.

There are several good Affiliate programs available to choose from. The first that comes to mind is ClickBank. You are not required to pay any fees at any time. The products you will be selling all come complete with their own professionally built website. All you need is a way to get traffic to that site and, depending on the amount of traffic you drive to the site, you will be paid a set commission for each sale. This method of earning money online is preferred above all others because it has less to learn and remember when just starting.

You will have your hands full just getting the visitors to the sales site. If you follow these recommendations, you will be using free traffic generation programs to drive traffic to the sales page of the chosen ClickBank (or other similar affiliate program)product. ClickBank usually pays between 50% and 75% commissions based on the purchase price paid for the product (minus the fees charged to the merchant who owns the product).

There you have the simple truth about what is best for those just getting started as Internet Marketers who are serious about making an income on the Internet. Now get out there and earn!
